The class:

A good first course for those looking for a introduction, or a refresher for those with previous experience. Great for loosening up your body and voice, building self-confidence, and unleashing your creative spirit.

Everyone needs an outlet to express themselves, a vibrant place to grow and learn, in a spirited and supportive environment. This is what PAPA's striving to bring, the experience focuses on the individual expression of each student while developing truth on stage and skills to utilize in their everyday lives. We'll be playing games to get in tune with your creative self (even if you don't think it exists), talking about emotions, blocking, projection and body language and putting it into action with some short fun scenes.

The Teacher:

If there's one girl who wears too many hats, it's Brooke. That's why we think she's the perfect one to teach this workshop. She grew up in Long Beach, and blames her love of musicals on her role model, Barbara Poulshock, who started giving Brooke piano and voice lessons at age 6. At George Fox University Brooke had the opportunity to dive into all the aspects of theatre, onstage and off, and willingly exclaims that she has a passion for theatre that only grows and grows with each production.

Besides starring in many of PAPA's own productions growing up such as Hodel in "Fiddler on the Roof" and the baker's wife in "Into the Woods" she also has credits such as Beatrice in "Servant of Two Masters" and Magdalena in "The House of Bernarda Alba". Brooke has also earned her BA in Theatre : Acting/Directing & Tech/Design from George Fox University as well as being accepted to the Open Jar Institute in New York for their Broadway musical theatre intensive course.

Brooke is an accomplished theatre actor, choreographer and director who hopes to inspire students in their pursuit of theatre, and in their pursuit of life.  Please join her for a heartfelt and fun journey into the world of theatre!
